Upton in Bloom

Upton in Bloom was one of the first projects that the newly formed Upton Village Community Group embraced.

On the 22nd January 2019, Upton Village Community Group and Friends of Warwick Park jointly exhibited the 'Upton in Bloom' project during the Wirral West Community Fund showcase Event.

On the 14th March the group learned that their bid had been successful. The money from this, together with money from a second grant, was used to order the first two planters for Upton Village. 

These first two planters were delivered on 23rd April and were quickly positioned, one on Ford Road, on the pavement by the bus stop, and one on the paved area by the junction of Ford Road and Arrowe Park Road.

The planters were then filled with 200 litres of water and 250 litres of compost, and filled with plants.

These two planters were quickly followed by four more, paid for with a "Wirral Together" grant.
