2019:

  • Had our first planter installed in Ford Road (Wirral Together Grant)
  • Purchased four new planters for the Village crossroads (Wirral Together Grant) and had the unsightly bins removed
  • Had a new Village Noticeboard installed for all our residents, especially those who do not have access to social media (Wirral Together Grant)
  • Had three new benches installed. Sourced in the North West and made from recycled plastic. Donated by Susan Porter Funeral Care, Alex Taylor Funeral Care and donations from our Sainsbury’s bucket collections.
  • Had two new planters installed in Arrowe Park Road which replaced an area of unsightly and redundant industrial bins (One Stop Shop Carriers for Causes Grant)
  • Planted 1,000 Crocus bulbs and 1,500 daffodil bulbs (planted by our volunteers)
  • A local resident (in his eighties) made two wooden planters for our crossroads, using decking donated by a local resident (recycling)

 2020:

Covid arrived so this did slow us down, but we carried on as best we could whilst following all guidelines in place at the time.

  • Installed three new planters between the main road and the service road in Arrowe Park Road (Grant from Councillors).

2021:

  • Obtained our wonderful new Village Sign. The start of our promotion of the Village history. (Funded by a Wirral Together Grant and the support of our local Councillors and the Wirral West Constituency Team)
  • A local resident donated a planter for the slip road in Arrowe Park Road in memory of her partner
  • A new planter situated in Ford Road donated by St Mary’s Church

2022:

Picking up the reins again following Covid.

  • Plant Fair (along with Flourish) – fundraiser with the support of the Horse and Jockey pub
  • Continued to develop our gardening projects
  • Continued to develop our In Bloom projects

Future plans:

  • Planting more trees
  • Developing pavement gardens
  • Extending our pollinating gardens and planters
  • Attracting more volunteers and members (post Covid)
